From Toddler to Little Person
Why are some toddlers happy and curious, others sad and withdrawn and still others angry and unfocused?

12 - 36 months ... pulling away and hurrying back.

Toddlerhood is filled with ambivalence - of wanting to move forward to the many new experiences possible with the ability to walk, run, climb and play. Yet, intermingled with the forward journey into the world around is a simultaneous wish to remain a baby, safe in the security of Mommy's and/or Daddy's lap. The conflict causes distress for the toddler. It is not uncommon to be very mature and grown up one moment and clingy, demanding and whiny the next.

"From Toddler to Little Person" helps parents navigate or prevent the typical "problems" that may emerge in toddler years – eating, sleeping, toileting, aggression, delayed speech, clinginess, over-activity, defiance etc. - in ways that supports positive, forward development. Problems unresolved at the toddler level often become much more serious over time. When a toddler's psychological development is "on track", it sets the stage for success in all the stages that follow.
